Global Roaming Kids

Last 18 December, Ayesha, Jannah, Imran and Rifqa came home to Malaysia. Yes, alone by themselves unaccompanied by any adults. When they already boarded the plane from Cairo, Papa SMS me that they are already on the plane.

When they reached Dubai, Ayesha and Jannah SMSed that they are safely at the new Terminal 3. They had a 10 hour transit. Really long! Then, when they were about to board the plane, again they SMSed me.

Then, their father SMSed me that they are safely in the plane to KL and handing over them to me.. Just like the morning handover during workshifts...eh..

They were supposed to land at 930 pm on 18 December. They landed early. Unfortunately it took so long for their luggage to arrive. I waited and waited. Or rather, assisted Shakira playing with the railings of the arrival hall. I SMSed them asking where they are. They said they are still waiting for their lugagges to arrive.

After what seemed to be a long wait, yes, it was long.. we had to go and relief ourselves at the ladies.. they emerged. Shown here was their arrival. Rather crumpled looking kids... but i am happy to see them after not seeing them for three weeks.

Then, a flurry of activities with them. Mainly for me to entertain them. To whatever their appetite fancied. Either food or things to buy or things to do.

Shakira was really happy because she gets to play with her sisters and brother. Everyday they went swimming. Shakira gets to play at Smoland with Rifqa. Shakira gets to be "manja" by Kakak Ayesha. Taught by Jannah. Played with Imran.

Alas, 1st January came too early. Last night we sent them to the airport. Everyone else were busy watching the fire crackers, instead, we spent the night at the airport. I waited for Ayesha, Jannah, Imran and Rifqa to go in. Then, i waited and waited for them to SMS me that they were boarding so that i could leave the airport. Until the last call for boarding, i still havent heard from them. I was worried. In case anything happens to them. I didnt want having to turn around to resolve it if i was already in the taxi towards home. Since it was already 215am so i presumed that they were already in.

So we went home. reached home at 3 am. I finally went to sleep much later. (Did some FaceBooking... my new lurrve...)

In the morning i waited until 11 am Malaysian time to SMS them again. I asked them where are you. No replies. I was so worried. I waited and waited. Until 330pm, Papa emailed me saying that they are safely in Dubai. Phew.. Alhamdulillah..

Now its 11pm. I assumed they are already in the plane to Cairo. I havent done a proper handover.. anyway Papa is already on the way to pick them up...

I never thought with the advent of 1430H or 2009, i have global roaming children.. with a time difference of six hours too.. yes those are the powers of Allah.. i do hope that these children wil be equipped to be the new age muslim.. ready for the high technology universe where muslims dominates in every sense.. and we their parents are to provide that platform...

p/s

1. I bought a new GPS Garmin to assist me navigating the roads in KL. Maybe i should have my kids a hidden GPS so i always know where they are, eh?!! (Tak perlu risau2 tak dapat SMS). Global Roaming Kids tagged with a Global Positioning System..

2. I will post a novel about a futuristic Muslim city... imagine..high tech, total living of islamic ways, tall and proud to be a muslim, respected by the whole universe and influential..

3. Yes, to all my nephews and nieces, to all my students friends that I meet, to all my YPC friends, rise and meet the challenge. You are the NextG.. the next generation to make things happen... Like my favourite tagline

TOGETHER, We Make It Happen!

and while doing that dont forget

Merrily...merrily...merrily...Life is But a Dream...
